We’re excited to share that Edurino, the hybrid learning platform for children aged four to eight, has raised €17M in a Series B led by Ravensburger Next Ventures, with participation from Summiteer and existing investors including DN Capital, Tengelmann Ventures, b2venture, FJ Labs … and us. Edurino has been part of the Emerge community since we backed founders Irene Klemm and Franziska Meyer in their seed round in 2022; we followed on in the €10.5M Series A, and we’re delighted to be going again here.
Irene and Franziska met at BCG and founded Edurino to solve a problem every parent recognises: kids are drawn to screens, parents want screen time to mean something. Edurino’s answer pairs an app of curriculum-aligned games with physical character figurines and an ergonomic stylus, turning screen time into learning time.
That fun has evidence behind it, too. A University of Cambridge-validated study found a 35% improvement in problem-solving skills among children using Edurino. The product is built by a team of more than 40 educators, game designers, psychologists and scientists, tested with more than 1,000 children, and sold across DACH retail from MediaMarkt to Müller.
We’ve had a front-row seat for three years, and their ambition has only grown as they’ve scaled: build with educators and scientists, test with children, claim nothing the data doesn’t support. It’s why parents trust Edurino – and why we do.
“Three years ago Irene and Franziska told us they’d build the most trusted name in early digital learning. With Ravensburger – one of Europe’s most loved play brands – now leading, that trust has an institution behind it. I get to test this one at home: my three daughters are a tougher investment committee than ours, and Edurino cleared them unanimously. Irene and Franziska have built the rarest thing in this market – a product children love that parents don’t have to feel guilty about. As a dad, I’d back it even if I weren’t an investor.”
Mario, Emerge
The funding will develop new content formats, scale the UK rollout and double Edurino’s bricks-and-mortar retail presence in Europe by the end of 2025.
Congratulations, Irene, Franziska and the whole Edurino team. With Ravensburger aboard, the next piece of the puzzle clicks into place.
