We’re delighted to lead the €1.4M Seed round of Algor, the AI platform that transforms texts into editable concept maps and visual study tools, with participation from Club degli Investitori – who backed the company’s pre-seed in 2021 – plus 40Jemz Ventures and Swedish angel (and Emerge VP) Gustaf Nordbäck.
Most study materials assume everyone learns the same way – and most people don’t. Algor takes text, images, audio or video and turns it into concept maps students can edit, share and learn from. By the end of 2023, the platform counted more than 10,000 subscribers, roughly a fifth of them outside Italy, who had created more than 2M maps between them.

In January 2021, Mauro Musarra, then a student, won a Politecnico di Torino innovation challenge with an idea for turning dense text into visual maps. Most challenge ideas end up in a drawer. Mauro and five co-founders – every one of them under 25 – took theirs into the university’s I3P incubator and did the hard thing instead: they trained their own models to find the concepts buried in a text and arrange them into a meaningful hierarchy, a problem you can’t solve by bolting a chatbot onto a textbook. No growth team, no playbook; six young builders who were still students themselves, making the tool they wished they’d had – and watching their classmates fall in love with it first.

For some of these learners, this is much more than a better way to revise. Concept maps have long been one of the most effective study supports for dyslexic and ADHD students. For the one in five learners who process information differently, this is game-changing.
Algor’s funding will drive internationalisation, hiring and product development for learners across Europe and beyond.
